THE LOVE DEBT

We thank God for His protection, provision and sustenance from the beginning of the year till now. May His name alone be glorified. In the year 269 A. D. a man was executed for sharing his love. In this period of time, it was illegal to be a Christian. Whosever did not worship the gods of the Roman Empire was considered an atheist. This man went out of his way to share his love with others and the Romans executed him because of it. His name was Saint Valentine. He put into practice loving God first and other second. Valentine’s day is much more than flowers, gifts, candy and more thank going out for dinner. This day should remind us of the less privilege, widows and those who suffered with giving their lives for the sake of their love to God and their fellow man. May God help us and grant us understanding in Jesus name.

Romans 13:10 says “love worketh no ill his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law”. Husbands are enjoined to love their wives. The woman is the man with a woman. She is pregnant with some good things but to deliver them, you will need to show love to your wife. You cannot love your wife and at the same time be wishing her evil. Do you love your wife? According to Ephesians 5:25, God expects you (husband) to love your wife as Christ love the Church to the point of dying for her. If you are still keeping sweet sixteen outside the marriage or giving your wife problem at home. It means you are still wanting in love and you need deliverance. Nothing is too much to give your wife, after all, she is a p art of you. Any husband who treats his wife as if she is a separate individual is only acting in ignorance. If you love your wife, you will dwell with her according to knowledge (1 Peter 3:7). This means you will identify her weaknesses not as weapons against her, but because you want to find ways of covering them. If you wife takes time to dress herself, you will remind her to get dressed at least one or more hours before the time of departure. If you use her weaknesses or failures against her, you don not love her.

In addition, God expects the husband to love his wife as much as He loves the Church. Your love for Christ is in direct proportion to the love you have for your wife. If you have 20% love for your wife, you cannot love Christ beyond that figure. The extent to which you love your wife, is the extent you love Christ. If you dislike your wife and think you love Christ you are a joker. Also, since you believe your wife is from the Lord, whatever you do to her is done to the Lord. Many husbands will go to hell for frustrating God’s expectations concerning their wives. How are you treating her? Do you owe your wife in the area of love, understanding and companionship? Repent and pay your debts today!
